Allie Johnson is a PhD student in the Hearing and Speech Sciences department and a Language Science Fellow at the University of Maryland. She earned her Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her research interests are largely driven by her experiences in the clinic. Her research explores several methods of assessing speech in young children with cochlear implants, including transcription, acoustic analyses, and perceptual ratings. She hopes her research will advance our understanding of speech development, improve assessment techniques available in the clinic, and inform unique approaches to therapy for children with cochlear implants.
