Vivian Sisskin is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at the University of Maryland. She is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and a Board Certified Specialist in Fluency and Fluency Disorders. She received the ASHA Media Champion Award for promoting an improved understanding of communication disorders through her appearances on local and national television, radio, internet and print. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in stuttering, autism, and clinical methods. She is a clinical educator in the Department’s Hearing and Speech Clinic, with a special focus on counseling in group therapy for individuals with a variety of communication disorders.
