Do you want to help us learn how to improve cochlear implants? We are always looking for participants for our studies! Our studies vary in the amount of time they take and in what you would be asked to do.  Most of our studies involve a listening component, either to measure success with the implant itself, or to compare different types of processing strategies.

Our studies look at such topics as:

  • Improving speech perception in noise
  • Effects of aging and implant use on hearing and cognition
  • Language learning with an implant
  • Bilateral cochlear implants
  • Improving sound localization
  • The genetic basis of hearing loss
  • Benefits of post-implantation training (in conjunction with Galluadet University)
