The Maryland Cochlear Implant Center of Excellence (MCICE) leverages the existing strengths of University of Maryland-Baltimore School of Medicine (UMB), the University of Maryland-College Park (UMCP), and the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) to build a cohesive entity composed of educational, clinical, and research components.

UMMC has been recognized by US News and World Report as one of the best hospitals for Otorhinolaryngology. UMCP’s clinical graduate programs are both ranked in the top 20 by US News and World Report, and contain a strong focus on CI training. This combination of strengths sets the stage for MCICE to become the worldwide premier institution for educational training, clinical services, and basic and translational biomedical research on cochlear implants (CIs).
